    दानानामपि सर्वेषां गवां दानं प्रशस्यते ।
    गावः श्रेष्ठाः पवित्राश्च पावनं ह्येतदुत्तमम् ॥

A well known verse from Mahabharata which means –
“Donation of cows is superior to all other types of donations. Cows are supreme and sacred.”

Cow is the only animal on this planet that gives us different invaluable things her entire life; cow’s milk has been proven to be the best super-food on earth that can be consumed by a new born & an old man alike; cow dung is utilized for different purposes including religious ceremonies, bio fuel & fertilizer; cow urine has many medicinal qualities & is used in making lot of ayurvedic medicines in addition to being a great disinfectant.

No doubt, in Hindu religion, cow is considered pious & has been given the status of “mother”.

In recent years due to the steady rise in overall maintenance cost, it has become economically very stressful for the farmer to rear cattle especially a non milk giving cow. The result is that farmers have started abandoning their cattle.

We at Rescue Ma have come up with innovative solutions to educate & help farmers to make cattle rearing economically more viable; one of those solutions is “adoption”.

Due to our fast paced living & the nature of our dwellings, everybody can’t keep a cow at home.

We would like to provide the devotee(s) an opportunity to own/adopt a cow and take the services of Nirvi Gau Sadan to keep/supervise that cow & rear her on devotees’ behalf.

Other than adoption, a devotee could also contribute by doing other cow services for e.g. ration donation for a month or supporting the pregnant or injured cow that needs more care & nutrition.

On special occasions like festivals(Shri Krishna Janmashtmi, Govardhan Puja, Gopashtami etc.) or birthdays of near & dear ones, devotee can fund the distribution of jaggery etc. to the cows.

We sincerely believe that this adoption program would not only help in relieving the economic stress of the farmer but would also help in spreading religious prosperity.

As Mahatma once said – “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated”; it is high time that we wake up to our moral responsibility towards this gentle animal & treat them with the respect that they deserve.

Contact us for more details with respect to the adoption process & we’ll be more than happy to oblige.
